Great street-style tacos - amazing flavors and friendly service. No salsa bar but they do have limes and radishes.

I walked in and didn't know what to expect and my eyes were bigger than my stomach. The asada was good and the adobada was marinated very well but I would get them as tacos rather than mula because it ended up being a lot for me. I was kind of hoping for a sauce bar so I could make my tacos spicy but their only option was to add on green or red salsa.

I always get the adobada tacos with pineapple Amazing!! I don't go inside normally but it is usually quick and so is the drive through. Inside there is room to sit and some outside tables. Taco shop ambiance with really good food and fast service!

Adobada fries are & that bright green avocado sauce should be available at every taco shop! If you're taking a trip from SD to Harrah's casino this place is a definite stop on the way

Pretty good taco spot and great alternative to Gordo if you don't want to wait in long lines! Came in afternoon on a weekend and was very chill. Adobada is definitely better at Gordo, but this place is pretty good too. Interesting that this place puts spicy salsa on your tacos too though unless you request it off. I noticed it and asked for it off, but trying it was very spicy and overpowering. Overall decent taco spot!

We love the tacos from here. Being Mexican I think we can easily tell when the tacos are good as we grow up eating them. Well these are one of our favorite places to have tacos in San Diego. They are always busy, especially after 5 pm, but their service is always great. We went through the drive thru and the woman taking our order was super friendly. The drive thru line moves fairly quick, I would say sometimes quicker than the dine in lines. We ordered to split between 2 of us: 1 carne asada taco- Good portion of meat, lots of cilantro, onions, and guacamole. The meat is not overly cooked and nicely seasoned. We also always ask for the salsa on the side, since we drive 30 minutes each way, no one likes soggy tacos. 1 adobada taco - Good portion of meat, cilantro and onions. The avocado salsa was added on this one by mistake and the taco looked like a mess, it was still delicious though. Campechana fries - Served half carne asada and half adobada meat. They don't skimp on the meat, it's a hefty portion which we were surprised. Minus 1 star as the fries were not as crispy. Seemed like they were fried quite some time ago and were lacking some cheese. We thought they were served with guacamole since we did ask for that. Also you have to add a lot of salsa in order to get flavoring to the rest of the fries, otherwise they will just be dry. Stick with the tacos, they are much better than the campechana fries. They also provide lemons, radishes, and salsa.

My friends are SD born and raised and dub TJ Tacos the best, esp. for adobada! I usually get three (lengua, buche, adobada) + a refillable aguas frescas and the tacos are more than enough for me. All 5/5! A little pricier, but good for its size. Get in the line for the meat you want and they'll make it and put it right on your tray. There's also outdoor seating and the inside is spacious. Self serve bar for radishes and limes.

Oh TJ Tacos, how do I love thee?!? I love TEG but some times, I don't want to drive 45 minutes just to get some tacos all the way down south. Came here when it wasn't so busy. The husband said that the last time he went here, he had to park a couple blocks away and walk over. It can get that busy. We went at 9pm in a weekend and there was a good amount of people inside and the drive thru. Trust me, try to park on the other side because if you end up on the side where the drive thru line ends, you can get stuck there for a minute or two. On to the tacos and fries! I love adobada tacos with everything. The line for it was one of the longer ones but it was worth it. We also ordered adobada fries. Let's talk about the fries. They were really good. The fries were crispy and there was even distribution of meat and toppings. I really appreciated this version over TEG. I think it's because it has better fries. By the way, if you want to make it even better, just ask for some red sauce from the cashier. Now onto the tacos. I ate 6 of the adobada tacos with everything (hot sauce, green sauce, onion and cilantro). I had to stop myself because I would have eaten more even when I was already full. The tacos were packed with al the ingredients and you can easily separate the two tortillas and make more tacos that way. The dining room also can get busy, so just be aware that it can get crowded in there. It's a no nonsense dining room, got the seats and the tables and it's clean. There is some seating outside, so bring a jacket during winter months. Overall, this helps with my street taco cravings. I will definitely go back. It's just too good not to.
